Inventioneering Architecture
Exhibition
In celebration of Switzerland's rich architectural heritage, the Consulate of Switzerland/SHARE and the four Swiss schools of architecture present Inventioneering Architecture, an exhibition in the arrival hall of Terminal E at Boston Logan Airport.
Inventioneering Architecture will showcase Swiss Higher Education with a focus on architecture and design. Goal of the exhibit is to open an international discussion on different approaches in teaching architecture. Student models, drafts, and further information about teaching and researching are presented.
The exhibition features an interactive 130-foot (40 m) platform of an imaginative cross-section of the Swiss Alps, created by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH), the Academy of Architecture at the Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the Institute of Architecture at the University of Geneva.
Thanks to our colleagues at swissnex in San Francisco, this exhibit has already encountered a phenomenal success last October when it was on display at the California College of the Arts.
Lecture Series
During the time of the exhibition, lectures by prominent Swiss architects will take place at different local schools of architecture in the Greater Boston Area.

The publication published along with the exhibition «Inventioneering Architecture» puts forth the efforts of faculty and students in schools of architecture of three distinct regions of Switzerland: ETH Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich / Faculty of Architecture; USI Università della Svizzera Italiana, Mendrisio / Accademia di Architettura; EPF Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne / Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering ENAC; University of Geneva / Institute of Architecture Providing a contemporary survey of the Swiss educational landscape, the publication «Inventioneering Architecture» spans the interrelated domains of teaching and research. The probes shown in the exhibition and which are accordingly adopted in the publication are expressions of diverse points of view, positions held by an established, as well as a younger generation of the respective faculty and they represent – last but not least – the labor of many commited students on the threshold of practice.

The exhibit is located in the lower level of Terminal E, left end of the building.
By bus/subway:
- Take the Red Line to South Station.
- Change to the Silver Line (SL1, to Logan Airport).
- Get off at Terminal E, the Silver Line stops in front of the Arrival Terminal.

- Take the Blue Line to Airport.
- Then take the Airport Shuttle (Route # 33).
- Get off at Terminal E, the Shuttle stops in front of the Arrival Terminal.
By car:
- From and around Boston, follow the street signs to the Airport.
- Follow the signs Arrival Terminal E
- Pass curbside of Arrival Terminal E, then turn left, and enter Parking Lot 1
- The nearest parkings are Terminal E Parking Lot 1 & 2 and Central Parking Garage.
